Given life by Aaron May, in 2022 the Monster Crown TCG came to Kickstarter, exceeding its funding goal and feeding it the monster-fuel needed to bring it to life. Collect your favorite monsters in card form and experience a new dimension of play.
Welcome, new tamers, to the wilds of Crown Island!
At first glance, Crown Island may seem familiar and tame to you. You may think you’ve had an adventure like this, and you are confident in your ability to navigate its lands and control its Monsters.
But the world of Monster Crown does not care about your presuppositions, and the Monsters and tactics used by tamers here will end your Monster taming career before it begins.
Be wary, and be cunning, and you may survive long enough to control amazing power. Falter just a little, and the Monsters (or worse, people) behind you will remove you from their path next.
Monster Crown TCG is a reimagining of Studio Aurum’s indie monster-taming RPG Monster Crown as a tabletop trading card game.
Monster Crown, which released in 2021 on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, features charming retro-inspired graphics and music, a vast world to explore, a dark storyline, and a robust breeding system with over 1,200 different kinds of monsters to tame.
In Monster Crown TCG, two players will undergo their own perilous journeys across Crown Island, pitting their respective Monster teams against each other as rival tamers. Each begins the game by selecting their favorite Starter Monster and placing it facedown on the field.
Starter Monsters that tamers can choose from include Canite (the Brute-typed All-or-Nothing Canine), Darwhol (the Will-typed Ocean Reclaiming the Land), Dracoyle (the Relentless-typed Century Draco), Ambigu (the Unstable-typed Metal Goo), and Hooclaw (the Malicious-typed Little Sadist).
Monster Types are not elemental, rather they are defined by temperament and physiology!
- Will Monsters’ stoic shield outlasts the harsh pummeling of Brute Monsters.
- Brute Monsters beat down Malicious Monsters with raw, physical force.
- Malicious Monsters’ vicious tendencies are best at manipulating Unstable Monsters.
- Unstable Monsters resist Relentless attacks with their unpredictable forms and movement.
- Relentless Monsters eventually wear down Will Monsters with their endless drive.
